Why Buzzin' About Bikes?
Well the name has a three-fold meaning.
1. The original bike I had was a yellow and black V-Cruise 125 which I called the 'Bee Cruise' due to its similarities to a bee or hornet and the fact it made a
buzzing noise like most 125s do.
2. To be buzzing about something is to be excited. I was excited to finally start learning to ride a bike and be out on one after dreaming about it for 25 years.
3. Buzzing about can mean to move quickly or busily.
Why do I film?
I like to ride and there are some people who cannot get out and about on a motorbike who like to watch. This is one of the reasons I started recording my rides so they could share in the experience.
Why do I ride?
In 2024 I had some time off work due to my mental health. One of the reasons I wanted to get a motorbike was to cut through the traffic which was making my work day even longer. It was during this period I finally did my CBT and purchased a 125cc. I continue to ride as it helps my mental health being able to ride in the beautiful countryside of Essex and able to visit some amazing places.
My love of bikes though goes back to my college days. I was in to wrestling and The Undertaker would come out on a large cruiser bike weekly and to me it was the coolest thing ever! At college some people were getting scooters and small capacity bikes and I used to go around with them looking at bikes in our breaks. It never went much further despite my desire to own a 125cc at the time and do my motorbike test. But it would have to wait for another 22 years!
Why a Royal Enfield?
Well I would love to have a big Harley Davidson one day but there is nothing
better at the moment than riding about on a classic British bike brand. I also love India - I spent over a month there in 2019 and some of my family lived in India. Therefore, a bike with British and Indian connections was the perfect machine for me.
